MONQ launched two new wellness products — MONQ R, a refillable personal diffuser, and Bottled Blends, their essential oil line in liquid form. I was tasked with designing motion-based ads to introduce both products to MONQ’s social audiences. The goal was to clearly showcase product benefits in a sleek, visually compelling format optimized for scroll-stopping engagement.

The Problem

Both products represented a shift in MONQ’s offering and needed clear visual storytelling. Existing audiences were unfamiliar with how MONQ R refills worked or how Bottled Blends differed from traditional diffusers.

Stakeholders wanted a campaign that would:

  • Visually explain how the MONQ R refill system worked

  • Introduce Bottled Blends as a standalone product line

  • Match MONQ’s clean, nature-forward brand aesthetic

My Role

As the lead designer on this campaign, I was responsible for:

  • Storyboarding the motion ads from initial concept to final execution

  • Designing and animating all product, lifestyle, and text elements

  • Maintaining visual consistency across multiple ad variations

  • Exporting optimized assets for use across social platforms

Process

I started by reviewing product specs and identifying the core use cases.

Key steps included:

  • Collaborating with the marketing team on script direction and callouts

  • Creating custom illustrations and icons to simplify product explanations

  • Animating motion sequences in After Effects with branded transitions

  • Testing layouts and motion timing for multiple aspect ratios and placements

The Solution

The final ads feature:

  • Smooth, minimal transitions to reflect MONQ’s clean design style

  • Clear visual storytelling of the refillable MONQ R functionality

  • Animated product shots and text overlays for clarity and emphasis

  • Separate ad variations tailored for Instagram, Stories, and Reels

  • Cohesive visual system tying both product launches together

Results & Impact
